MOMENTUM PICTURES TAKES NORTH AMERICAN AND UK RIGHTS TO BLUMHOUSE PRODUCED THRILLER “DASHCAM” DIRECTED BY ROB SAVAGE
The Film Sales Company begins sales for the rest of the world
NEW YORK, NY – February 10, 2022 – Momentum Pictures has acquired U.S, Canada, and U.K. rights to the director of pandemic breakout feature Host, Rob Savage’s new screenlife film DASHCAM produced by Blumhouse Productions. Provocative and boundary-pushing, DASHCAM sparked immediate and visceral responses from audiences and critics alike following the film’s raucous premieres at the 2021 BFI London, horror festival Sitges, and Toronto International Film Festival, where it was named runner up People’s Choice Award: Midnight Madness. Momentum Pictures is planning a summer theatrical release.
From Savage and the creative team behind Host, DASHCAM follows an abrasive musician's night, via her livestream, as it takes a dangerous turn when she agrees to help transport a frail elderly woman out of town. The film stars breakout Annie Hardy as a caustic online streamer whose anarchic behavior triggers a non-stop nightmare. The film also stars Angela Enahoro and Amar Chadha-Patel (Disney+ Willow).
Director Rob Savage said: "I am, to use the parlance of our movie, SO M*THERF*CKING EXCITED to be working with Momentum Pictures and Blumhouse on the release of DASHCAM. I can't wait for audiences to see the madness we've concocted."
“We are elated to share this exciting new project with North American and U.K audiences. Rob is an incredible filmmaker, and we are thrilled to be partnering with him and the entire Blumhouse team on this film which has already received positive reactions and buzz from festival audiences,” says Ian Goggins, Momentum Pictures’ EVP Global Home Entertainment.
Added Jason Blum, founder and CEO Blumhouse: “Rob’s DASHCAM is a ride and not for the faint of heart - scary, intense, kinetic - like an unpredictable road trip with your most maddening friend.”
Directed, produced, and co-written by Rob Savage. Jason Blum and Douglas Cox also produce. Co-written and executive produced by Gemma Hurley and Jed Shepherd. Ryan Turek also executive produced.
Blumhouse has tapped frequent collaborator The Film Sales Company’s president Andrew Herwitz for international sales for all other territories, after their recent successful work together on Blumhouse titles Bloodline, Mercy Black and Thriller which have had robust sales across the world. The company begins international sales to coincide with the commencement of this year’s EFM.
Savage is represented by Independent Talent in the UK, Exile, WME & Jackoway Austen.
