MATT PRITCHARD AND MATT WALTON JOIN ENTERTAINMENT ONE TO LEAD GROWING UNSCRIPTED TELEVISION BUSINESS ACROSS THE UK AND EUROPE

London – August 8, 2019 – Entertainment One (eOne) announced today the appointment of Matt Pritchard and Matt Walton to the roles of Executive Vice President, Unscripted Television, based in London.  The announcement was made by Tara Long, eOne's President, Global Unscripted, Television, and follows the recent acquisitions of both UK-based unscripted leaders Daisybeck Studios and Whizz Kid Entertainment.
 

As the Company focuses on the growth of its unscripted business on an international basis, Pritchard and Walton will together oversee the day-to-day operations of eOne's unscripted team in the UK, building a new development and production unit and managing key relationships with UK networks, producers and talent.

"With equally impressive backgrounds and shared experiences working on some of the biggest unscripted hits and formats to come out of the UK, Matt and Matt bring expertise and a vast network of impressive relationships to our international unscripted team," said Long. "As we continue to build on our strong foundation in the UK and launch the next wave of unscripted hits, they will be key to driving our ongoing success." 
 

Pritchard joins eOne from Boomerang, where he served as managing director since 2016. While there, he oversaw the successful launches of award-winning international hits What Would Your Kid Do? (ITV) and Extreme Cake Makers (Channel 4). Prior to that, he was the group director of development at Twofour, where he helped create some of the company's most successful shows, including The Jump (Channel 4), This Time Next Year (ITV), The Real Marigold Hotel (BBC One), Ibiza Weekender (ITV2), and Royal Marines Commando School (Channel 4). Previously, Pritchard was head of development at BBC Worldwide and was also a senior member of the ITV Entertainment team that created The Chase (ITV) and Four Weddings (Living).

Walton joins from ITV Studios' owned 12 Yard where he was Head of Entertainment & Factual. At 12 Yard, Walton co-created and executive-produced hundreds of hours of programming for all major UK networks, including high volume quiz, game, reality, competition and makeover shows. Credits include 23 series of Coach Trip and Celebrity Coach Trip, where he oversaw its successful move from Channel 4 Daytime to E4 peak, Big Star's Little Star (ITV), I'll Get This (BBC2), The Instant Gardener (BBC1), and the upcoming Comedians Giving Lectures for Dave. Prior to joining 12 Yard, Walton was a freelance development producer and showrunner for various UK production companies, including Initial, Tiger Aspect, ITV Entertainment, and Thames where he produced early series of The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent.

Under Long, eOne's current slate of unscripted programming includes the recently announced reboot of Making The Band (MTV) with Sean 'Diddy' Combs; Ready for War (Showtime), executive produced by David Ayer and Chris Long's Cedar Park Entertainment and platinum-selling artist Drake and Adel Nur's Dreamcrew; Murder in the Thirst (BET), hosted by businesswoman, model, philanthropist, LisaRaye McCoy; The Strongest Man In History (HISTORY); Ladies Night (BET), following Salt-N-Pepa and Spinderella as they land a Las Vegas residency; Ex on the Beach (MTV), which debuted as MTV's highest-rated non-"Jersey Shore" unscripted series launch in over 4 years; Siesta Key (MTV), from the producers of Laguna BeachLadyGang (E!), an interview and pop culture series based on the "Podcast of the Year" winner of the same name; Hustle In Brooklyn (BET); Growing Up Hip Hop, Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta and Growing Up Hip Hop: New York (WEtv).
