Leading independent studio enhances multiplatform abilities through equity stake
Secret Location to see significant growth potential through eOne’s expansive international presence
Toronto/London – May 28, 2014 – Entertainment One (eOne) is pleased today to announce that it will broaden its digital offering through an equity investment in Canadian interactive agency Secret Location.
Launched in 2009 by James Milward (President, Executive Producer & Founder), joined by partners Pietro Gagliano (Creative Director & SVP) and Ryan Andal (Technical Director & SVP), Secret Location creates robust interactive experiences to launch content through storytelling for brands, advertising agencies, producers and broadcasters. eOne’s investment will further reinforce and expand the booming Secret Location business and support the development of original interactive properties for eOne and Secret Location’s many clients.
Secret Location will operate independently and continue to innovate through work with existing clients, including eOne, and new best in class partners. Secret Location leadership and team remains the same. eOne will have a representative on the Secret Location Board. By operating as its own entity, Secret Location will service new and existing clients autonomously.
This deal builds on a strong track record of successful collaborations between the two companies on eOne Television-produced content across all genres including, Storming Juno, Certified Funny, The Great Martian War, Rookie Blue and Emmy-nominated Perfect Storms and augments eOne’s ability to develop digital content and products in the earliest creative stages.
