Toronto/London – November 19, 2012 - Entertainment One (eOne) is delighted to announce the record-breaking box office success of Breaking Dawn – Part 2.Released on Friday, November 16, the film has already generated CAD $9.3 million in Canada and £15.8 million at UK cinemas - nearly £2 million more thanThe Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1, which previously held the title of the highest opening for the franchise in the UK.
The #1 film across the globe this weekend, eOne holds rights in all media to the hugely popular film series The Twilight Saga in Canada as well as the UK. From leading studio Summit/Lionsgate and based on Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling novels, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is the intense conclusion in a series of five films, which star Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.  The film is directed by Academy Award® winner Bill Condon from a screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg.
In the UK, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 takes the prestigious title of the 4th highest grossing 3-day weekend of all time behind Harry Potter and newly released Skyfall, making it the highest three day opening in history for an American film in the UK and reporting the biggest Friday of the year with £6.9m. Stewart, Lautner and Pattinson were all in attendance in London on November 14, where eOne hosted the film’s UK premiere.
In the second of a two-part adaptation, and the highly anticipated final installment The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, Bella (Kristen Stewart) awakens transformed – she is now a mother and finally… a vampire.  While her husband Edward (Robert Pattinson) delights in her beauty, speed, and uncommon self-control, newborn Bella has never felt more alive; and the destiny of her best friend Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) has become entwined in that of their exceptional daughter Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy).  The arrival of a creature so rare cements an extended family, but will soon ignite forces that threaten to destroy them all.
With more of the struggle, romance, passion, mystery, and action that made Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 international blockbusters, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 concludes the universally adored tale of love, family, courage, empowerment, and destiny.

Across the UK, Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is currently playing at 556 locations. Similarly, in Canada, the film had an impressive opening weekend on 755 screens at 368 locations.
In May 2011, eOne and Summit renewed their successful output relationship for Canada and the UK. Shortly after, eOne and Summit secured a multi-year output deal for eOne’s Australian division, Hopscotch/eOne, covering all rights in Australia and New Zealand.
