Meet Tom Hartley, based in London.
He leads the development and production of digital-first series for eOne and Hasbro, including My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale.
What’s the best thing about your job?
Definitely all the fantastic, creative people I get to work with on a daily basis. From my amazing team, to our brilliant providers, to our stakeholders at eOne and Hasbro – you couldn’t ask for a more passionate, intelligent and positively challenging group of people.
What project are you currently working on?
We’re developing and producing a load of digital shows at the moment across the eOne and Hasbro portfolios. Highlights including the My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale series, PJ Masks: In Real Life and an animated series for the toy brand Baby Alive. By the time this comes out, our My Little Pony series will have already launched, so fingers crossed we’re celebrating great viewership!
How and when did you start your career at eOne?
I joined eOne in early 2019 as Director, Digital Production in Family Brands. I was joining the small and mighty YouTube management team behind one of the biggest kids’ content networks in the world (managed by no more than five or six people!). Producing digital-first content was a bit of an experiment back then, but we’ve seen amazing success, and have since scaled from just me to a department covering content strategy, development, creative, production and post, driving billions of views across YouTube and beyond.
What’s your next project?
Getting married, then honeymooning in Mykonos. Sounds like hard work.
